Musicians Are On The Move For The Jellyfish Project

Our incredible artists have been busy this summer, with lots of shows, festivals, tours, and activity. Over the next few months we will be booking our 2015/2016 Tours. Mindil Beach currently has space in their fall tour in Vancouver, Carmanah will be taking over Vancouver Island and beyond, and Corrina Keeling will be representing us on the east coast. If your school or a school you know would be interested in a performance, let us know or contact us for more information at booking@thejellyfishproject.org. We will do our best to accommodate your request based on our scheduling options and band availability.

MINDIL BEACH

Mindil Beach just returned from the Edge of the World Festival in Haida Gwaii and are preparing for the PEAK PERFORMANCE PROJECT. Track their progress as they collaborate with and compete against other artists from British Columbia and Alberta for the top prize. They are going to need your support, so keep your eyes on our social media pages to help them out during the voting stage!

CARMANAH

Carmanah just returned from an epic tour across Canada in their vegetable oil-fuelled van with their dog, Spud. Read more about their trip about being Greener on the Road from coast to coast here. We are constantly inspired by musicians who are making changes to the way that road-trips can be done!

CORRINA KEELING

Corrina Keeling will be accompanying the shifting fall colours across the country as part of the ViaRail Artists On Board program. Tours can leave a huge carbon footprint, no matter how carefully you plan. Encouraged and inspired by alternative ways to travel while touring, she will be entertaining passengers with original music, storytelling, and primarily Canadian songs, starting from the 1st of September in Vancouver, BC, and completing the trip in Halifax, NS a week later. You can follow her journey at corrinakeeling.ca. But before she rides the rails out east, she goes on tour all over British Columbia.

Connect to our musicians via our artists page. We are also currently revising our From The Stage program, so if you know some bands that may want to join, please send them to the artist registration page.

LAUNCHING THE JELLYFISH ACTION PROJECT

In the Fall we will be launching our Jellyfish Action Project for schools. This is a tool you can use to understand how to make your home more environmentally friendly.  It provides home audits, surveys and tips on several key issues, including: Energy Conservation, Responsible Consumerism, Home Toxicity Reduction, Water Conservation and Waste Reduction. Keep checking the Learn section of our website for updates. A big thank you goes out to Dan Kingsbury Senior and Belanger Designs for being so instrumental in making the Jellyfish Action Project happen.

WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU: HOW ARE YOU HELPING THE PLANET?

What are you doing in your schools, homes, or communities to help the environment? We are looking for students, teachers, and schools to share with us the projects and activities you have been doing to help make this world a better place. Be creative, send us a picture, write a story, or send us a quick update via social media and we will share your stories with our community. You can inspire others by the work you are doing, so send us a message.

STAY TUNED

There are more awesome updates coming shortly. Every little bit counts, so thanks for being a part of our team to make the world a better place!
